In 1992, Digital Surf had a first deal to sell the surface analysis software of its profilometers through another profilometer manufacturer, the company Taylor-Hobson. This deal initiated Digital Surf acting as an OEM software supplier, at this time operating only on MS-DOS and Macintosh II platforms.
